All I can say is YEH MON! Finally gave this place a try and was NOT disappointed. Hidden on a side street in Saratoga is the Best Jamaican Food in the Region. Chef is incredibly nice. Beef patty w/Coco bread, Bread is warm and light, beef patty is hot and well seasoned. Perfect appetizer or quick lunch. Chicken curry was the Best- seasoned and just the right amount of spice, cabbage and carrots cooked perfectly. Now the Oxtails! If you know a good oxtail "fall of the bone is necessary" and these fell all the way off. The meat, gravy, beans so rich and flavorful. Ordered plantains this time also, large serving for the price, tender and not too sweet, really good. The 3 stars for atmosphere don't mean anything, it's a takeout only place. Can not wait to see him expand and be a full service restaurant.
The best Jamaican food I have had in my life! Don't let the appearance of this spot fool you, the food is amazing and the staff is incredibly friendly. They had some of the most tender chicken I have ever had! Make sure to try the Coco Bread, it was perfect to eat with the jerk chicken and curry goat. 10/10 would recommend to family and friends. The coconut cake is also to die for.
A total hidden gem! Yeh Mon is located in the Knights of Columbus building, but has its own entrance. The chef and owner was so kind and upbeat. The beef patties were delicious and so were the jerk chicken and curry chicken. Everything was packed with flavor. A must try for anyone who loves Jamaican food
We ordered the Jerk chicken and the curry chicken. Both were absolutely delicious! We chose cabbage, rice and beans and fried plantains as our sides all also delicious. the BBQ sauce on the side was awesome. Highly reccomend!
We ordered goat curry, jerk chicken, steamed cabbage and plantains. This was the best Jamaican food I've had! I appreciated that it wasn't overly spicy, because my palate can't take too much spice! And get this, upon calling the restaurant, the call dropped, and the owner called right back! That was fun! And what an awesome personality on the phone! One other thing I liked is they serve smashed fried plantain, and I loved it with the crispy edges! Now if only we had something like this out in Galway! Definitely will be getting my Jamaican food here from now on!Thank you!!
Stopped by here for takeout dinner on the way upstate. 100% worth the stop. Generous portions for a fair price. Got 2 beef patties, oxtail, and brown stew chicken. Everything was fall off the bone and delicious. The cabbage was also banging. Great customer service as well. Thank you for the warm hospitality and heart warming meal!! Please support this business if you have the opportunity.
Wow, this food was absolutely fantastic. Like no joke. I found this place on accident the other day looking for a restaurant to take a friend and I saw Jamaican food. I was like well not today but this weekend I'll try it. Well..I tried it and I think I'm in love. I ordered Curry chicken , with cabbage and plantains. Jerk pork with the cabbage and plantains also . 2 dinners. The chicken was fall off the bone tender the cabbage was flavorful and the sweet plantains I saved for last cause that was almost like a dessert. I didn't even try the jerk Pork cause when I tasted the curry chicken I couldn't stop eating it. The owner was there cooking , super nice guy. This is a walk up counter service spot, to go place in the Knight of Columbus building. That's why I only rated the atmosphere as a 3 cause the was no dining room. But if I scored it by the smells in there it would of been a 10 star. I will update this review when I take down the jerk pork later. If ypu like things spicy make sure you ask for the brown hot sauce. It's delicious. This might just become my new go to spot. All the food is prepped to order so it's a good 15 to 20 mins while chef prepares so keep that in mind. But you can call an order in. Definitely worth it.
Upon walking in we were greeted kindly. We ordered oxtails, stew chicken and curry goat, and a beef patty, everything was seasoned well and proportions were great for the amount we spent.Remember this is take out only, outside seating only when the weather permits!!! Know what you want and place order before arriving for faster service. It is great that I don’t have to travel all the way to Albany or Schenectady for Jamaican food and rude service most of the time.I will be returning soon, have to try the soups.
